It was a very cool day the day that Bill and I met Van Halen. We've both been big fans forever, and we catch them live pretty much every time they come to Toronto. It's always a great show, and it's easy to see why Eddie Van Halen has been a hero to us since we were 12 years old.

Dave, Sammy or Gary? Great music came from each lineup. Dave brought the classic Frat Party songs, while with Sammy, the band got a hell of a lot tighter. With Gary (former singer of another one of our favourite bands, Extreme), the band put their most adventurous work to date. It may not have been the best selling album in history, but at least they took a creative risk, which is so rare in this entertainment-by-committee-and-focus-group world.
