Rock Journalist Vic Garbarini said that The Police were to the early 80's what Led Zeppelin were to the 70's, and what The Beatles were to the 60's. He is absolutely correct to say this. The Police combined outstanding musicianship with an amazing sense of adventure and a clear understanding of space.

Stewart Copeland is one of the most creative drummers (actually percussionist is a more apt description) in the world. Andy Summers made a delay and chorus pedal a cool thing to have long before the world had heard of The Edge. Sting wrote incredible songs and performed them with an intensity that he hasn't had since the band broke up.
